Organic Tulsi Krishna Leaf is carefully sourced from Kerala, India and prepared from Ocimum tenuiflorum, one of the traditional varieties of Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil. Of the Tulsi varieties we offer, Krishna is distinguished by its bold, warming character, deeper herbal flavour and naturally spicy, clove-like aroma.

Tulsi holds an important place in Ayurveda and has been valued in India for centuries. Traditionally regarded as an adaptogenic herb, Tulsi is associated with resilience, vitality and general well-being and has long been prepared as an everyday herbal infusion.

Krishna Tulsi naturally contains a variety of aromatic and plant compounds, including eugenol and other naturally occurring polyphenols and essential-oil constituents. Its distinctive composition contributes to the variety's pronounced fragrance and warming, spicy character.

What Makes Tulsi Krishna Different?

Krishna is the boldest and most warming of our three Tulsi varieties. It produces a full-bodied, earthy herbal infusion with spicy and subtly sweet notes, a distinctive hint of clove and a rich, lingering finish.

For comparison, Tulsi Rama is gentler and sweeter, with delicate peppery and minty notes, while Tulsi Vana is brighter and crisper, with a fresh, citrusy character. Krishna is an excellent choice for those who prefer a deeper, more robust cup of Tulsi.
