St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a flowering perennial herb recognizable by its distinctive yellow flowers. Its name comes from its traditional association with St. John's Day in late June, when the plant typically flowers. The herb contains a number of naturally occurring plant compounds, including hypericin and hyperforin.

St. John's Wort is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve restlessness and/or nervousness as a nervine/calmative. The dried herb produces an earthy, distinctly herbal infusion with mild bitterness. Medicinal ingredient (quantity per 2 teaspoon serving): Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort – herb top) — 2 g
Recommended dose (Adults 18 years and over): 2 teaspoons of dried herb 1–6 times per day. Do not exceed 12 g of dried herb per day, or 4 g (4 teaspoons) per single serving.

To make an infusion: Add 2 teaspoons (2 g) per cup of boiling water. Steep for 2–10 minutes, strain, and drink 1–6 times per day.
Duration of use: Consult a health care professional for use beyond 18 weeks. Use for at least 1 week to see beneficial effects.
Known adverse reactions: Some people may experience mild gastrointestinal disturbances, nausea, restlessness and/or headaches. Stop use if hypersensitivity/allergy occurs.
Contraindications: Do not use this product if you are taking anti-cancer, antidepressant [e.g. selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI)], cardiovascular, contraceptive medications, blood thinners, anti-HIV agents and/or medications to suppress the immune system (immunosuppressive medications).
