Organic Red Clover Leaf & Blossom – Trifolium pratense

Organic Red Clover Leaf & Blossom is prepared from Trifolium pratense, a flowering perennial recognized by its distinctive pink-purple blossoms and three-part leaves. Both the upper leaves and blossoms are traditionally gathered for herbal preparations, creating a beautiful loose herb with a mild, naturally pleasant flavour.

Red clover has a long history of use in traditional Western herbalism, particularly as a nourishing herb and in preparations traditionally associated with women's health. It has also been used historically for skin, respiratory and general wellness preparations.

One of the most distinctive characteristics of red clover is its naturally occurring isoflavones, a group of plant compounds classified as phytoestrogens. Red clover also naturally contains flavonoids and other botanical compounds found throughout its leaves and flowering tops.

Leaf & Blossom

Our Red Clover includes both leaf and blossom rather than blossom alone. This reflects the traditional use of the upper portions of the plant and provides a balanced botanical ingredient for herbal infusions, custom tea blends and tincture preparations.

Red Clover produces a mild, earthy infusion with a subtle natural sweetness and gentle grassy character. It can be enjoyed on its own or blended with complementary herbs such as nettle leaf, raspberry leaf, rose petals or lemon balm.
