Organic Hops Flowers – Whole Humulus lupulus Flower Tops

Organic Hops Flowers are whole dried flower tops of Humulus lupulus, carefully sourced from the USA. Best known as an essential ingredient in brewing, hops also have a long history of use in Western herbalism, particularly in traditional preparations for relaxation and sleep.

Hops flowers are traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve restlessness and nervousness as a calmative and as a sleep aid during times of mental stress.

The female flower cones contain naturally occurring aromatic and bitter compounds, including the characteristic resins and volatile oils responsible for the unmistakable fragrance and bitterness of hops. Their distinctive composition gives hops their importance in both traditional herbal preparations and brewing.

Whole Flower Tops

Our hops are offered as whole dried flower tops rather than pellets, powder or extract. This allows you to see the natural structure and quality of the botanical ingredient and makes them particularly well suited to loose herbal preparations, infusions and custom blends.

Hops produce an intensely aromatic infusion with pronounced herbal, earthy and pleasantly bitter notes. Because of their distinctive flavour, they are often combined with gentler herbs such as chamomile, lemon balm, lavender or rose.

Infusion: Use 1–2 teaspoons of Organic Hops Flowers per cup (250 ml) of boiling water. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes, then strain.
