Organic Tulsi Gotu Kola Tea
Ask a QuestionOrganic Tulsi Gotu Kola Tea – Holy Basil & Centella asiatica
Organic Tulsi Gotu Kola Tea brings together two celebrated Ayurvedic herbs in one naturally caffeine-free blend. Aromatic Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, is paired with Organic Gotu Kola, Centella asiatica, an herb traditionally associated with memory, concentration and cognitive well-being.
Both botanicals have been valued in Ayurveda for centuries, yet each brings something distinctly different to the blend. Tulsi contributes its aromatic, gently spiced character, while Gotu Kola adds a mild, earthy and slightly bitter herbal note.
Two Celebrated Ayurvedic Herbs
Tulsi is one of the most recognized herbs in Ayurveda and is traditionally regarded as a rasayana and adaptogenic herb associated with resilience, vitality and general well-being. Gotu Kola is traditionally considered a medhya herb in Ayurveda, a category of botanicals associated with the mind, intellect and memory. Unlike herbs used for stimulation, Gotu Kola is naturally caffeine free.
Together, Tulsi and Gotu Kola create a distinctive herbal blend rooted in two complementary Ayurvedic traditions.
Gotu Kola – Centella asiatica
Gotu Kola has a long history of use throughout Asia. In addition to its place in Ayurveda, Centella asiatica is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where it is known as Ji Xue Cao.
Gotu Kola should not be confused with kola nut. The two are unrelated botanicals, and Gotu Kola does not naturally contain caffeine.
Gotu Kola or Brahmi?
Gotu Kola is sometimes called Brahmi in certain regions and Ayurvedic traditions, which can create confusion with Bacopa monnieri.
They are two different plants. Gotu Kola is Centella asiatica, while the Brahmi offered in our collection is Bacopa monnieri. Both have long histories in Ayurveda and traditional associations with cognitive well-being, but they are botanically distinct herbs.
Checking the botanical name is the most reliable way to distinguish between them.
