Organic Mullein Leaf

Organic Mullein Leaf from Bulgaria

Organic mullein leaf is carefully sourced from Bulgaria and selected from Verbascum thapsus, a distinctive flowering plant with a long history of use in traditional Western herbalism. Naturally caffeine free, the dried leaves create a mild, earthy herbal infusion that can be enjoyed on its own or incorporated into herbal tea blends.

Mullein has been traditionally valued for respiratory and throat support. The leaves naturally contain mucilage, a group of polysaccharides that develop a soft, coating quality when infused in water, contributing to mullein's long-standing use in traditional herbal preparations for the throat and respiratory system.

Traditionally, mullein leaf has been used as an expectorant to help relieve respiratory complaints, including coughs and mucus buildup, and to help soothe irritation of the throat. Its gentle herbal character has made mullein a familiar ingredient in traditional respiratory tea preparations.

Mullein also has a history of traditional use as a smoking herb, either on its own or incorporated into herbal smoking blends. The dried leaf has historically been burned or smoked in various folk herbal traditions.

Mullein leaf produces a mild, earthy cup with a subtle herbal flavour. It can be enjoyed on its own or blended with complementary herbs such as peppermint and licorice root.
