Palo Santo (or “Holy Wood”) is a sweet-smelling tropical wood that is a natural incense. Native only to Ecuador, Peru, and the Galapagos Islands, Palo Santo is said to clear out negative spirits and energies, increase relaxation, and bring joy and harmony to the home. Palo Santo is in the family of trees that produces Frankincense and Myrrh. Palo Santo wood is harvested under government supervision by the natives of the Peruvian jungle. No trees are destroyed in the collection of the wood, only twigs and branches on the ground are gathered. The sticks once lit will burn for a few seconds to a minute, then extinguish themselves, filling a room with its wonderful fragrance.
