Marshmallow root is traditionally used in Herbal Medicine (as a demulcent) to relieve irritation of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and associated dry cough, and to soothe mild inflammation of the gastrointestinal tract (e.g., gastritis).

Medicinal ingredient (Quantity per 1 tablespoon serving):
Althaea officinalis (Marshmallow root, cut & sifted) – 3g

Recommended dose (Adults 18 years and older):
1 tablespoon (approx. 3g), 1–3 times daily.
Daily total: 6–15 grams dried root; do not exceed 5 grams per single dose.

Directions for use:
Take a few hours before or after taking other medications or natural health products.
For best results, prepare as a cold infusion:

Add 1 tablespoon of the cut root to 150–250 ml of cold water.
Let steep for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour, or overnight for a stronger extract.
Stir occasionally.
Strain before drinking. You may gently warm the infusion if desired—do not boil.
